[A] Tournament winners automatically advance to the 2021 Mid Atlantic Championship Tournament on September 11th. Only tournament champions advance straight through to the Mid Atlantic Championship tournament. All other teams compete in the Wild Card Tournament the week before to fill the remaining Championship Tournament spots (8 total).
[B] On July 24th in York, the top 12 non-tournament winners in the point standings were invited to a double-elimination tournament. The winning team of this non-point event advanced through to the Mid Atlantic Championship tournament.
Point System:
Points for reverse order of finish (i.e. in a 20-team tournament, 1st place team receives 20 points, 2nd place team 19 points, etc.) plus (+)
Bonus points for play-in and above:
8 points for 1st place;
6 points for 2nd place;
4 points (each) for 3rd - 4th;
2 points (each) for 5th - 8th (only if the tournament utilizes a quarterfinal round);
1 point for play-in game loss; and
0 bonus points for all other teams.
For point purposes, 3rd/4th and 5th-8th teams split the points from those spots. Overall record is not used as a tiebreaker for these spots due to unbalanced pool play schedules.
For teams finishing outside the top 8/play-in game losers (top 4/tiebreaker losers for tournaments without a quarterfinal) the tiebreakers are: (1) Overall record; (2) Extra Innings (bases loaded) losses. If two or more teams are tied after applying those tiebreakers, they split the points evenly among them.
Teams that declared as “for fun”/non-point earning teams: Bigballs (Philly Special), F**k ISIS (MAWAA), WILL Waves (Wiffs & Waves only), State of Mind (Wiffle Bash).
August 8th, 2021 - Upon an audit of the point standings, it was discovered that Voodoo was credited with 22 points for Wiffle Wars (06.26) when they should have received 24 points (16 pts. for 1st place in 16-team tournament + 8 bonus points for 1st place). This has been corrected in the current standings.
